Residential & Commercial Loan Originator – Private Mortgage Dept
Job Summary
Myers Capital Hawaii is seeking an experienced Residential & Commercial Loan Originator to join our Private Mortgage Department. As a premier mortgage brokerage and direct private lender operating in 48 states, we deliver exceptional service and custom financing solutions. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in mortgage origination, strong knowledge of the residential and commercial lending landscape, and a genuine drive to serve clients from first consultation to closing.
Responsibilities
- Originate residential mortgage loans (Conventional, VA, FHA, Jumbo, and Portfolio products).
- Originate commercial real estate loans alongside our private mortgage product suite.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with real estate agents, builders, and referral sources.
- Interview prospective borrowers to analyze financial and credit data and advise on product and pricing.
- Gather required documentation and work closely with processing and underwriting teams to ensure timely closings.
- Stay current with evolving mortgage guidelines, industry trends, and compliance regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service, keeping all parties updated throughout the process.
Qualifications
- Active NMLS license (or ability to obtain immediately).
- Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant mortgage origination experience.
- Proven track record of success in mortgage sales and origination.
- Strong understanding of Conventional, VA, FHA, Jumbo, and commercial loan products.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Proficiency with Encompass (LOS) and modern mortgage technology platforms.
