Myers Capital Hawaii is seeking a meticulous Residential & Commercial Underwriter & Closer to join our in-house operations team. You will be at the heart of our loan process, ensuring every file meets investor guidelines while helping borrowers close on time. The ideal candidate combines deep technical knowledge of underwriting guidelines with strong attention to detail and a collaborative mindset.
Responsibilities
- Underwrite residential and commercial loan files to agency and investor guidelines.
- Review appraisals, title commitments, credit reports, and third-party documentation.
- Issue clear-to-close approvals and prepare comprehensive condition packages.
- Coordinate with title companies, closing agents, and originators to ensure on-time closings.
- Ensure regulatory compliance across all loan types, including TRID, RESPA, and applicable state laws.
- Maintain pipeline and meet department turn-time standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of residential or commercial mortgage underwriting experience.
- DE (Direct Endorsement) or SAR designation preferred.
- Strong knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, and VA underwriting guidelines.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with DU, LP, and GUS automated underwriting systems.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
